If anyone wants me to start a Movie Quiz, just answer this question......guess if you aren't sure. What movie was this scene from? Put in anything you know about it, like the actors, the year, etc. I am starting with a very easy one. KEITH
Carl, you CANNOT guess until someone gets it...then you can contribute, LOL! Many things can be said about this movie....let's see how much you know!

Hatira!.....catching animals for zoos. With John Wayne, Red Buttons and a very lovely lady whose name escapes me. Made in 1966 I think.

Very Good Poordevil. Anyone else know anything about the movie? Who has the lasso? Is there another vehicle involved in the chase, etc? Why use a lasso.......isn't there something else they usually use? KEITH BIG HINT, LOL!

Hatari was my dad's favorite movie. I have it and it's just plain fun. It's basically John Wayne and crew catching critters for zoos and getting drunk all the time. Great outdoor scenes. Directed by Howard Hawks, I believe which explains all the banter.

Dont know anything about that movie but just from the picture it reminds me of the misfits with clark gabel and marlyn monroe when they were ropeing wild horses from the truck. First quick look and I thought thats what it was untill I seen the blacks in back the truck. Hows that for my thread drift of the day? Take a look at this!

My favorite movie when I was young. I must have seen it a dozen times over the years. I never could hit a beer bottle neck swinging from a string with a rifle :)

Yes that is the movie "Hatari" I believe. Pretty good show and watched it many times.

The Duke, Red Buttons, Bruce Cabot, Elsa Martinelli, and I can't remember the short blond headed guy's name. He was in lots of movies also. He was in the "Flight of the Phoenix"---designed the plane they put together to fly out of the desert.

Hardy kruger was the German actor.

You can use tranquilizer darts--usually Etorphine or carfentenal. According to my book: 0.001mg carfentenal per kg of animal weight. Antagonize with 100 mg of naltrexone per mg of carfentinal. Do not use open tip syringes but side ejecting syringes due to thick hide.

NOTE: Naltroxene syringes (TWICE recommended dosage) MUST be prepared in advance of darts due to extreme toxicity to primates! EMTs must be present while administering tranquilizers.

Hatari. Wow was she hot!..Saw it first when I was about 12. It was on base in France and the Sat matinee, including popcorn and a coke was 25 cents! Believe "Baby Elephant Walk" was featured in the movie.

Yep. The crew had this baby elephant that kinda adopted Dallas, the Italian journalist/love interest. When she left, to get her back they used the elephant as a bloodhound. And as he's tracking her through town, with Duke close behind, they're playing Baby Elephant Walk.

Movie number 2.

Probably before most of you folks here,....time at the movies.:D

Buster Keaton sat on the driver wheels of a train. As the train moved he rode up and down on the drivers....

Hint #1 During the Civil War
Hint #2 Silent movie

Follow up question, which side of the war did he fight for in the movie?

If he was going up an down by the drivers, he was on the connecting/driving rods, not the wheels. There's a humongous stud coming out of the drivers and the connecting rod runs from driver to driver and another to the steam cylinders.

I'm not old enough, but I'd bet Great Locomotive Chase.

Henry Mancini wrote the score for Hatari, The Pink Panther and many, many memorable movies and TV shows of the period.

I'm pretty sure the Buster Keaton movie was "The General". A while back
a film festival had a viewing of this movie, free and open to the public.
I went because I wanted to experience seeing a silent movie on the
big screen. I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed seeing that movie. My
Dad had talked about how as a little fellow he and his brother went to
the silent movies and his brother would have to whisper what was
written to him. He was to young to read. There was a talk after the
movie and I believe the man said Buster Keaton did all his own stunts.
Some were pretty daring. Goose
