I am watching Mr Holland's Opus for the umpteenth time and I continue to be impressed at what a marvelous movie it is.

"Ray", "Amadeus", "Walk the Line" and "Spinal Tap" are also at the top of the list.

Anyone else have any favorites?

I'm not a big Rock fan, but I thought "Bohemian Rhapsody" was a pretty good flick.

"Honeysuckle Rose" captured the mid 70s outlaw movement

"Songwriter" had its moments

"The Commitments" had a lot of soul

"Cadillac Records"

"The Last Waltz"

Bird. Directed by Clint Eastwood I believe. Depicts the sad story of Charlie Parker and stars Forrest Whitaker.

Round Midnight. You guessed it. Another movie about a sax player. Dexter Gordon plays the lead.

I've been itching to see these again. Now I know what I am going to get for my birthday...and maybe a new pistol.

As far as documentaries, I really enjoyed Muscle Shoals. It's amazing how much music that little town in Alabama produced. Where else can Greg Allman and Wilson Pickett get together to do a cover of Beatles tune during lunch? It's a good watch.
