Movies you like but are embarassed to admit

Brokeback Mountain.

(Just kidding!)

I can't think of any movie I've enjoyed that I am embarassed about... I even liked the original Conan movie, and still recommend it.

Me too "Conan the Barbarian" along with
The Lost Boys
Fright Night
I'm a sucker for vampire movies.

David-
Have you ever seen "A Night to Remember"? It's a black & white film about the Titanic. I've seen it many times, and was fascinated with it as a child. It was years before Ballard found the wreck, but was quite accurate. If you get a chance to watch it, compare it with "Titanic." All of the scenes related to the actual ship and shipwreck are almost copied from "A Night to Remember," without all of the love story. (Of course, in Titanic, they have some nice clips of Ballard's underwater photography, not to mention Kate Winslet naked... but "A Night to Remember" is worth a watch!)

Hmmm... I like plenty of movies, including many of the ones mentioned above, but it's hard to think of ones I'm embarrassed to admit that I enjoyed.

OK, maybe a few...

Japanese sci-fi movies featuring rubber-suit monsters.

Dolemite (Hint: Don't Google the trailer at work.)

The Super Inframan

The Evil Dead - Bruce Campbell's best work.
Kill Bill 1 & 2 - Mr Tarantino's best work.
and right next to Pulp Fiction, (drumroll)

Resident Evil 1-3 (lots o'zombie shooting and Milla Jovovich shooting lots o'zombies... now THAT's entertainment!)

One of my long time guilty pleasures is Streets of Fire. Corny, but you gotta love the sledge hammer fight w-Michael Pare/William Defoe. Oh, and looking at Diane Lane in her early 20's doesn't hurt either!

I liked the sound track, too. Some of the cars were pretty nice.

Anne of Green Gables
Shrek
These two really fire me up. I try to watch both every week. I used to like John Wayne and action movies, but now chick flicks are my favorite.

In the small but growing ever-so-slowly Mexican Shooting Community, SHREK is a popular film. In fact, an individual who shall remain nameless except to say that his ambition running untempered by intelligence has earned himself the monicker of "Lord Farquad" directly out of the SHREK characters. There are probably worse things to be called, but it still cracks me up to hear people referring to someone as "Lord Farquad" with a Spanish sentence framing both sides of the name.

As any SHREK fan knows, being called Lord Farquad isn't necessarily a compliment to your managerial skills.

So SHREK isn't that bad a choice at all.

Oh, yes, films;

Duck, you Sucker.
Apocalypse Now Redux
Jackie Chan's Who Am I? (Saw this one on a Mexican bus. Thought when it started "Oh, boy, they're really out to torture me here..." but I rather liked the film. Great stunts.
Imposter (If you liked Screamers and Bladerunner, you'll like this too.)

Caj, that was a great movie.

The one I like but a bit embarrassed to admit is "They Live" It's a B movie with Rowdy Roddy Piper.

"B"???? NO, more like a "Z"! But, truth be known, I watched it more than 2-3 times myself. One of my favorites, and boy do I get gas about this from guys is "Barry Lyndon".
