moving from 50yd to 100 yd targets

For me the ammo shortage moves me either to the 17 HMR Bolt acton or AR 15 for a couple hundred rounds of fun. These I can purchase by the 1000's the 22 haven't seen anything good for months now. I'm kinda precious with those last 2000 I have. I'll get a couple bricks of 22 at the gun show coming first hour it is open.

Just whilst I remeber, I tried a couple hundred CCI Stingers (1640 fps / 32 grain) at the weekend - not good - for my 15-22 they were too hot a round and I had flyers more often than not.

Am going to stick around 1200 fps and less....

Anyone else had this?

So I have my 15-22 dialed in good @ 50yds. I am using 3 inch targets. I am shooting mostly Fed bulk and CCI, and CCI blazer. If I move out to 100 yds am I going to be on the paper? I know there will be bullet drop. My main concerns are w/a 3-9 scope. what power binoclures will I need?. What grouping should I expect? I am physicaly unable to check targets by going out to see them, so I need to know where my hits are from 100 yds. I am using shoot and see targets. I have a few bigger targets, but love the challenge this brings. Do I need better ammo? Thanks in advance as this forum is the best. BiggB
I don't have a 15 22 but I started using my Henry at 25 then to 50 and finally 100 . Using high velocity ammo the difference from 50 to 100 was about 4 to 5 inches low after sighting in on the 100 just to verify I went back to the 50 and the shots were 4 to 5 high. all shot were in about a 3 inch radius of bulls eye at 100. Changing ammo makes a big difference in accuracy, don't think I am ready for the 300 foot range, maybe with my 15 sport when I get a scope for it
