Finally getting ready to move into what will (hopefully) be our last house. Found a place that both I and the Mrs felt was perfect for our golden years.

Packing and getting things ready for the movers is a real chore, and I didn't realize how much "firearms related" material I had until the time came to pack it up. Moving companies won't handle guns or ammo, so it's up to me to do it.

Looking forward to settling in and enjoying the tranquility.

BEEN married 49 years and we're moved 4 times...Not bad compared to some..HOWEVER i'm sick and tired of packing and moving boxes that go to the new house and stay unopened till we move again.......IF there is another time......God, I hope not.....I'm renting a dumpster and starting from scratch........I mean EVERYTHING is going in there....

You guys crack me up. :D

My Dad was in the Army for 30 years, 1931-1961. I was in the Army for something over 26 years, 1963-1990. The longest I ever lived in one place while either of us was on active duty was 5 years. Usually, it was move every 2-3 years.

Wife and I bought a house when I retired in 1990 and got to live in it for 15 years (new record) before Katrina ate it in 2005. The house we are in now will tie the 15 year record in September next year, 2020.

Ya know, I wouldn't have had it any other way. :)

Protected One, what a great looking house to make into a home. :)

Great View!

5 years ago I moved. First time in 32 years, so I started to gather up the guns. While I was at it I took a detailed innovatory. when I cataloged 184 guns and took 4 car/pick-up loads to my F-I-L's walk in gun vault, I felt like I owned more guns. I was cleaning out the reloading room, It has 3 windows with very full curtains that run down to the floor. The first window had 5 guns behind the left side and 6 behind the right, when that was all said and done I was at 225ish. I've sold about 43 or 44 and bought 6 so I'm back around 185. (I still haven't remembered where my Mossberg single shot 22 went, a tickle in my brain says I sold it, but I usually remember a heart tearing event like that!)

Moving ammo was another experience. 87 flats of shot shells. around 40 ammo cans full to the point pick the up with one hand! Eight 20mm ammo cans that required a dolly to move.

2 legal size file drawers of loading dies, several hundred pounds of cast bullets, only 180 pounds of jacketed bullets, 65,000 primers, 120 pounds of powder. 400 pounds of lead ingots. I kept 3 presses (Rock Crusher, Dillon 550. and Redding T-7) and got rid of several! (I still have my 20 ton hydrologic forming press!)

The move made me realize how low I've been running!

Nice!!!!! :D :D :D

The good wife and I will finally be moving into our retirement place (now under construction) sometime next year. Moving the arsenal is not something I'm looking forward to. Don't have a clue how I'm going to pull it off. Logistically, it's going to be a nightmare. :o

I bet there is room for a great man cave in that new home!

You know it! In fact....I had a sign custom made for the wall in it. :)

Lol. I told my wife that this was the LAST move, so make sure this place has EVERYTHING she wants. My only demand was the man cave with a 75" 4K UHD TV and fireplace.

We've been packing for a week and the move will take a week! Ridiculous.

...wow...nice place...

...as long as the water don't rise...

There's no history of that happening on the lake, but we were told that turtles lay their eggs near our properties shore, and if we're lucky we get to see them hatch and go for the water.
