Does anyone besides me plan to hunt with their sport? Am converting mine to a hunter. Might be worthwhile to have a separate section for hunting?

I have found and installed the predator light holder. The light itself has been shipped along with a recoil reducer. Sims snap on recoil pad is backordered. All that is left is to desipher which trigger will be the right one. Pics when things start to get done.

I use mine for hog hunting, but not at night (yet). I catch the pigs at my feeders at dusk and dawn.

.223/5.56 is perfect for hogs.....they usually feed at night, so sighting is really the only trick.

I have a green light flashlight that is claimed to light up out to 200 yards. Has four brightness levels. Five inches long and will fit my under barrel mount. Biggest hogs come out at night. They are too smart to show themselves in daylight, {just like deer}.Also will be hunting coyotes on our farm at night. Prolly will take a deer or two when in season when available. I will be shooting Hog Hammer ammo {has Barnes tripple shock bullets} on everything but coyotes. Will use a varmit bullet on them. I have a 4X14X40 scope mounted. My backup rifle is a 45/70.

Seems like a lot of ordinary people that live up by the Artic Circle use their ARs for hunting quite a bit.

I watch "Life Below Zero", "Railroad Alaska", and another one I can't think of at the moment but, quite a few carry ARs out into the brush.

Sometimes it's -35*F, too. Impressed me at least.

One shooter had his AR freeze up from over oiling.

I plan on using mine for ground hogs and coyotes. One of the main reasons I bought it.

Well, recoil / flash reducer is installed. Green predator light came in.Trouble installing in under barrel mount I had previously purchased and installed. This Orion light is speced at one inch tube diameter. Thing is the end cap uses an o ring for water proofing so threads are on outside of barrel which means light cannot be slid in from front. . Take that end cap off and barrel is too loose. I can solve that easy enough by adding some black electrical tape on the barrel. Having said that, this light is amazing. At a true 100 yards this light is still lighting up good enough that you can tell exactly what you are looking at. I will try and take pics tonight of how light works. slide one of gun in too.

Do you have a link to the Orion light you bought?

Came from Lonestar Taticial, Was 99.00 for kit, no shipping. I got 18650 battery, battery charger, extra mount, and light. Rated at 300 lumens. Just on and off operation . I believe in keeping it simple. Don't know how it's done but light casts a perfectly round less concentrated green beam for close up and also a spot light type beam that is very strong and easily shows eyes and body shape out to 200 yards.
