Just got my sport today and its awesome. It has the magpul folding rear sight and I have a question. How do I adjust elevation? I only see one dial And it is for windage. There was a magpul handout in the box which seems to indicate elevation can be adjusted on the front sight only but it indicates you should use a tool to adjust it and I did not get such a tool in the box.

Front sight post adjusts for elevation, rear adjusts for windage. When you lower the front post, it causes you to raise barrel up to put post in sight picture, and therefore bringing your shots up. Vice versa to lower your group. If you adjust the rear sight right, your shots will go right, left for left. That simple!

Elevation is adjusted at the front sight post. You can buy a tool at your local gun shop for about $5 or order online. Alternately, you can use a thin punch to depress the plunger and then padded needle nose pliers to turn the post, but there is a significant risk of marring the post if you aren't careful.

What is the name of the tool to adjust the front sight? Local gunship doesn't have anything so I'll need to find it online.

I called Smith to ask the same question. They were very gracious, and sent me one free.

It's called an "A2 site tool". Brownells for one sells them that accomodate either A1 or A2 sites.
Check your LGS for one and avoid shipping costs if you can.

The combo tool is the way to go. The A2 front sight needs a four prong tool, and that is the one most ARs use these days. Every once in a while though you may encounter an A1 retro build or Sporter, which needs a five prong tool for the older style sight. One of these tools is definitely a good thing to keep in your range box. When you see someone trying to adjust their sight at the range with pliers, be nice and lend them your tool. :D
