Yes, they will be updated to the newest specs, but I am not sure about scrapping the ones I have in inventory with what Silencerco said. Get in touch with me, and I can get one of the updated ones to you when they are ready.

I understand that scrapping the current ones wouldn't make a lot of sense from a business perspective. I wonder if you can't remove the o-ring engagement and sell them as the regular adapters though. In any event, do you have any idea what kind of timeframe it'll be until the updated adapters are available?

so S&W now offers a sound suppressor adapter kit....

comes with adapter, thread protector, and wrench for $40. im assuming this wont have the o-ring engagement. whats the advantage to the o-ring engagement? can i still use a Sparrow on a thread adapter that doesnt have it?

Yes the Sparrow/Spectre silencers can still attach to any normal 1/2x28 threads without the o-ring extention. The nice benefit of the o-ring feature is the silencer won't work it's way loose while shooting. The friction with the Viton o-ring minimizes that. Another nice benefit is the o-ring acts as a barrier to all the carbon/lead fouling, which keeps the barrel threads clean even after an extended period of shooting.
