MP40C shooting low

I normally work with my MP40C at about 5-10 yards. All is good.
At the range today I worked it out to 15 yards, and notice the gun shot very consistantly low about 3-5 inches. I woudl aim for the middle of the head ( target paper ) and hit the neck ( looked like I was trying to decapitate the target ). I would aim for the chest and end up with a nice group on the belly button.

I can compensate with keeping front sight higher than the rear, but I did not expect the rounds to drop that much for 15 yards. I was using WWB FMJ.

Is this to be expected with a short barrel pistol and longer ranges?

Out of curiousity, can you adjust the pistol's site for elevation?

Mine shoots POI at 15 yards as long as I am using 180gr. 165's drop a couple inches.

Not sure the weight on the WWB. Need to get the box out of the trash. I assume the WWB would be on lighter side for cost reasons. Maybe that is the reason. This may have been my first box of WW.

They make both 165 and 180 in WWB

If I were you I would have another buddy shoot your pistol as well
and see what results he gets.

Or better yet, have one of the "best" shooters at the range shoot it, but don't tell him or her what/where you're shooting. Then see what/where s/he shoots.

Good point. I consistently shoot 1 to 2 inches left. Other people shoot my guns dead on. Guess I'm still pushing it left. Not terribly worried about it but still practice trying to get better.

Will do. As with all things, it can be operator error.
I mainly asked, as I was also shooting my G17 and MP45 at the same time and they were dead on. Generally, my issue is pulling low and left which I have finally cured through better grip and trigger work.

When I first got my 40c, I was shooting low/left and was actually thinking about adjusting my sights. After all, there could not even be a remote chance that it was due to the shooter (i.e. me), right? Well, one of the friendly guys at the range/store loaded 4 rds into it and shot dead on at 10 yds. Don't forget to consider finger placement on the trigger and recoil anticipation to your correction formula.

Moral of the story...practice, practice, and you guessed it... practice.
