I just bought an MP9 and was looking for magazines for it. They seem to be scarcer than hens teeth. Couldn't find any for less than 35-45 bucks. Then I found 44mag.com. They have them for $24.99 plus $5.00 shipping.
And they were delivered in 4 days. And they are genuine S&W.
I just thought I'd share this with you all. And no I have no connection with them. Just trying to be helpful .:)

I bought some 9C mags from them they got here in 3 days.

I will not buy from 44mag.com. During the shortage they had both M&P mags and AR mags for $100 a piece. Places like Quantico and Botach still sold the same mags for $35, but it took a little while to get.
Good, Fast, and Cheap: Pick Two. Assuming OEM magazines then it's between just fast and cheap.

It's good to have both options available in the market; that's just basic economics.

This does not apply to standard issue, mass produced items like factory magazines. Only to one off, custom made items.

However, the point you're making is apt. Availability is a key component to any product. Demand is another. 44Mag.com took advantage of the lack of supply. That is their decision and in a free market, their right. It is my right to buy from another source. Just like it's their right to set any price they want, I can choose to pay their price or not. Because they chose to set a high price when the supply was low, even with a strong demand, I choose not to spend my money with them when the supply is plentiful. Some call it voting with your dollars. I just see it as the other side of the market.

If you want to spend your money with them, that's OK with me. I was just mentioning why I won't. Yes, I mention it because I want others to be aware of where they place their priorities.

For the record, I have a lot of strong feelings about where I spend my money. If I can, I avoid buying from places that treat their employees with cruelty. By contrast, I'll spend more money at places I feel take good care of their employees and customers.

So yeah, I'd rather spend $30 for a mag at LA Police Gear than $25 for that same mag at 44Mag.com.

What? Of course it still applies. Right now I can order magazines for "cheap" with standard shipping or I can order for "fast" by paying extra for overnight shipping. The local gun store has in stock (fast) a variety of mass produced guns ranging from cheap to good. That's just two examples.

Low supply and high demand means high prices. High prices are incentives to conserve the existing supply and create new supply. "even with strong demand"?? Are you expecting the opposite: low supply and high demand resulting in low prices?

I did not imply that you did not have the right to purchase elsewhere or that your actions were somehow "outside" of the market. I was just pointing out that your reasoning was foolish and economically inefficient. "Punishing" company A by over-paying company B because once upon a time the market price for a product (mags now) offered by company A was more than you were willing to pay is silly. (Mags now and mags later are different products.)

I cannot speak to how 44mag treats their employees, but they have treated me, as a customer, quite well. I send them money and they promptly send me magazines.
