Mr. Peanut is dead

Not too surprising as it seems that every kid today has developed a peanut allergy.

For the past three years we have been doing a weekend food bag program for poor elementary school children through our church. In last week's bag we packed a jar of peanut butter. something that we do from time to time.

To date, nobody has complained.

It appears that peanut allergy doesn't show up in poor kids, only in the affluent. We are not alone, we network with others with the same ministry, and they report the same.

I actually have fond memories of the character, and am actually a bit saddened he died in such a gruesome end.

I wonder if anyone still calls peanuts "goobers."

I know a few goobers.
