MSNBC commentators soiling themselves

Kostric used extraordinarily poor judgement. He is obviously an intelligent person but once again proves that intelligence doesn't translate to street smarts. It is quite likely nobody would have known he was carrying, he would be protecting himself and his rights, and he would have been able to articulate his beliefs without "interference" had only he been CCW. Wearing a gun in a tactical holster anywhere near the POTUS is simply stupid.

Be safe.

In answer to your question, of course it does. If you conduct yourself in a way that the MSM can use to portray you in an unfavorable light, you are hurting your cause. I'm not saying it's right but you've got to accept reality. If you don't, your voice will never be heard.

Bob

Well, the problem is that the MSM sees all 2nd amendment supporters in a bad light, no matter how they conduct themselves.

But then it wouldn't have been a teachable moment.

I think that the guy handled that twirp Matthews very well. I also believe that choosing to open carry at that venue was done purposely to bring attention to the 2nd Amend., and to its purpose for being in the Constitution. The sign he was carrying went hand in hand with that message. I wholeheartedly agree with the message he was trying to get across. The second amendment was put in place to keep a tyrannical government in check. That was the clear message that he was sending in a very peaceful way.

Compare this for a minute with the woman that was open carrying her Glock at the childrens soccer game. We discussed that here in length not too long ago. I disagreed with her choice back then, because she basically just scared the crap out of a bunch of misinformed moms, for no real reason other than that she could. CCW for her would have been the better choice IMO.

This guy needed to open carry, and have the sign about tyranny in his hands to make a very strong point. I believe he accomplished what he set out to do. I wasn't crazy about the tactical leg holster, as I thought that a bit over the top, but I guess he wanted to make things very obvious. It took a lot of balls to do what he did, knowing that he probably would have several secret service snipers zeroed in on him, be approached by the secret service, and possibly detained and questioned for a very long time. I am sure he thought about these things, but decided that sending the message that he sent was more important than his own welfare.

I don't know that I would have done that.

Mr. Kostric's 15 Minutes of Fame?

With all the vacancies we hope to see in Congress the next go-round, perhaps Mr. Kostric would like to step up to the plate? He handled himself very well for a non-prepared interviewee! We need more like him and I thank him for his courage.

I applaud the man for standing up for his rights. It was a very smart move. He did a great job. I would do the same considering Union Thugs are being sent to town hall meeting to intimidate people.

the liberal MSM will use him as a poster boy for the violent whack job right wing extremists
On the contrary! Intelligent and outspoken people like him make it harder and harder to portray gun owners as crazy rednecks and militant extremists.

I sure am glad people like this guy have the courage to put themselves on the line for a very important and noble cause.

It's nice to see someone with the cojones to stand up and practice what they believe.

He seems like a normal, concerned citizen. Isn't that what we are all about?

Yes, what a brave warrior. Shame he couldn't find the RKBA rally and ended up at the healthcare town hall meeting looking like a fool.

He was the RKBA rally. The first amendment rally also. Our rights are individual; nothing wrong with an individual standing up for them.

Here is a video of him explaining his situation and what transpired with police and news media. You can hear from his lips why he did it and what he was thinking.

I myself think he did a great job in support of our 2nd amendment rights. Dispite what the MSM might say, we are not stupid, outlaws or Mobs! Kudu's to him for going toe to toe with Chris Matthews.

We agree 100% on the principles here. All I am saying is that the guy's dress, how he carried, the place and the timing were all wrong. The RKBA is not an absolute right written in stone much as we here would like it to be. The Constitution, and all other law, gets interpreted and rewritten almost daily. To some extent we have already lost the battle in many parts of the country(been to NYC or Chicago lately?). This is reality, like it or not.

The battle to keep our RKBA, and the effort to regain rights lost, is a political fight. Even the courts are a political battle as the politicians that win elections appoint the judges. We better start playing the game like it is played in that arena or we will continue to see our rights being diminished. So far we ain't doin' so good.

Our problem is the whatever percent of this country that wouldn't know a right if you beat them with it. Our challenge is to try to break through the fog of emotion with facts and logic. Not easy given the state of the voting public. I'm glad we're on the same side.
