In the topic about, "Last of the Mohicans", one member said that the theme music helps him with pain management. He likes the complexity of the background notes.
Here are some songs that always help me to set aside cares and enter a more tranquil state, and most of these songs do indeed have that complex backbeat.
I appreciate the gentleman mentioning that aspect of music, and will listen for it in days (and music) to come.
If he sees this, I hope it lets him leave his cares as he listens. Whether one's pain is physical or emotional, music helps to sooth and to forget, for a brief time.
Here are some of my favorites. Post yours, too. :
Gladiator theme, by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard, NOT by Enya, as some suppose:

"Don't Believe in Love", written and performed by Dido Armstrong:

"Sand in My Shoes", Dido again. Listen to that complexity we noted in most of her songs. She is as remarkable a songwriter as she is a singer!:
YouTube - Sand In My Shoes
"Life For Rent", Dido, once more. Hey, I LIKE her music! And this one tells a lot about how we get out of life what we put into it. Her magnificent voice and talented lyrics add a lot to MY life...Of course, I have all of her CD's.:
YouTube - dido- life for rent(live at brixton academy)
"Thank You", in which she turns musical notes into joyous bubbles in that complexity we noted. Dido, once more:
YouTube - dido-thank u (live at brixton academy)
Finally, Enya:
Caribbean Blue", official video:
YouTube - Enya - Caribbean Blue (HD)
"Orinoco Flow" Again, that background complexity...
YouTube - Enya - Orinoco Flow
"Now We Are Free", by Lisa Gerrard, who is, I believe, also the singer. It is NOT Enya, often mistakenly credited.:

In conclusion, a more solemn note. A song that I want played at my own funeral. This always gets to me... :
"In the Mansions of the Lord":

Same song, here at Ronald Reagan's funeral. Give the priests a moment, then the Armed Forces Chorus sings as the military pallbearers enter.

I hope that some of you will like these musical selections, and that they will grant you joy and peace.
