Music You Enjoy

Paul Goddard could work magic picking his bass guitar.

I am a fan of both ARS and Paul Goddard. In the mid 70's I saw them in Greenville NC at the Attic. He was playing one of his ever present Rickenbacker 4001's. I got to hang with Paul for a bit. He was very approachable and amenable.

And, yes, the guy has plectrum chops for days.

While living about 45 minutes West of Atlanta and coming of age during the 1970's I saw a lot of acts. REO Speedwagon opened more shows for headline acts than any other I recall.

Still, they let never let you down. Many times their performance out shined the act they opened for.

Below is a song that deserves much more attention than it has received.

This is my first recollection of REO. Before they morphed into the slicker more pop sound.

As normal for me out of nowhere I started singing a song, "It's Nature's Way."

My wife didn't recognized the lyrics so I dug up this live version from 1990.

That was about a month back, I've been mining Randy and associates since.

Spirit should have been much more successful than they were.

While still a teen Randy got the name "California" from Jimi Hendrix.

Two Randy's in the band with Hendrix. Randy Palmer from Texas And Randy Wolfe from California. Hendrix gives you a name and you run with it.

On a side note, I side with Randy on the Taurus/Stairway To Heaven debate. Using other peoples stuff was definitely not uncommon for Zeppelin.
