Music You Enjoy

Yesterday I received a new Monoprice Monolith THX AAA headphone amp that I ordered earlier in the week. Price sells! A $168 example of "bargain buying" myself to the poor house.

Anyway I was just listening to Bob Seger & Silver Bullet Band Night Moves "Sunburst" with the new amp driving Sennheiser HD650's and thought, this darn sure qualifies as music I enjoy.

Quite aside from the music, that's nice gear! A good set of cans and dedicated amp is a wonderful way to listen.

I tried HD 650s as they are very highly regarded but found them a bit laid back for my ears, so went back to the Grado cans I'd used for monitoring and editing for a long time. (I'm mostly a classical and jazz guy but good gear brings out the best in anything that is well engineered.) A couple of years ago I picked up a pair of their GW100 wireless Bluetooth cans and absolutely love 'em. I lent them to my neighbor and she said, "I've never heard music sound like this!" :D
