I've been on a kick of this duo called 'The Handsome Family' after I discovered their song from the first season of True Detective. I don't even know what genre this falls into but I definitely enjoy it.
There's a little bit of a story behind this. Several years ago my church sent all the church volunteers to a Christmas concert at Glen Erie Castle in Colorado Springs.
The "Band" was a husband and wife Duo who do guitar and cello. The husband is one of the best guitar players I have ever heard in my life. I don't know who would remember The New Christy minstrels but that's where he got his start.
Anyway whenever I just want background music this is what I listen to.
The duo is called Acoustic Eidolon and I'm pretty sure their music is available online.
