Musician David Crosby: Pro Gun In The Extreme.

Anyone see the ~1991 movie Thunderheart with Val Kilmer and Graham Greene? Crosby plays the bartender who runs after some Indians that tear up the bar a little in a fight. He chases them out with a side by side and sends some lead their way. I wasn't sure it was him until he said his line (can't repeat it here) and that voice is unmistakable.

Great movie too.

wow, I never thought he'd be pro gun.

Actually, most who are very into drugs are pro- guns.

They feel major insecurities in life, with or without their drugs. The guns are a part of their security, and their barrier between their freedom (Freedom to use whatever drugs they want, to live their life any way they want) and the rest of society which would punish them for their drug use.

Whilst they make songs about the evils of guns, and preach about the evils of guns...... those are OTHER peoples' guns. Their guns and drugs do not hurt anybody, so just go after the other folks and their guns.

To be fair, a great many in society feel this way, regardless of their social standing or habits/ proclivities. Plenty of LEO who feel the public should not be armed, but they want the right to carry unrestricted. And everyone in between..... from artists to zebra trainers.......

wow, I never thought he'd be pro gun.

Count me as another.......never in a million years would I have thought Crosby was pro-gun, let alone a gun owner. Good to know actually!

Now I wonder how many other famous singer/musicians are pro-gun.....:)

I read a recent article that stated he was smoking weed again. Bad move for a confirmed addict,IMHO. Great musician, though.
I remember a photo showing his daily pocket gear in the midst of his coke smoking days- a fat roll of bills, a knife and a Colt Junior .25 auto. Like Steve Earle sings, "I took my pistol and a hundred dollar bill, I had everything I need to get me killed".

Wow, would never have guessed. Sometimes with great gifts come great challenges and demons and he had quite a few.
He's quite a survivor and makes a good elder statesman of our generation.

Well, I finished the book and he got his five year conviction overturned after he served one year and was paroled. by the Texas Supreme court for illegal search and seizure. I guess he could own guns again after that.

So on the IRS Form 4473, question 11.e., how does he answer:

"Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?"

Yes or No
