I see no mention of the 5 1/2 inch barrel length.

The only stainless N-frame with finely checkered topstrap and rib.

Actually the checking of the top strap is not defined by the -0 engineering revision.

All 5276 examples of product code 101024 have checkered top straps across all 4 of the engineering revisions

This is the top strap of my 627-1

You will notice the rounded tang on my rear sight. This indicates that the frame of this 627 is drilled and tapped for a scope mount from the factory

Thank you for that correction. My 627-1 does not have a checkered top strap.

I have guns with both 6" and 6.5" barrels and really see no difference. Never really thought or cared about it.
On a N-frame, my favorite barrel length is 5". It just looks, balances and feels right.
