I know I have spent too much money on these but it's been fun finding them. I will soon be sending off for a "Letter" for my 1076 to truly find out where it was sent to when it was new but today my question is if any of the FBI 1076's started with TFE. My 1076 is TFE56XX and it is capable to fire a round with the magazine removed and is marked that on the slide. It has night sights and I know it must at least be an ex law enforcement side arm. Thanks for any comments.

That's a nice collection. I've probably done the same regarding spending too much money on some things but as you said the hunt for certain things is enjoyable. I think you got a better chance than most that the 1076 is some type of former LE gun, possibly FBI. Especially since it has had the magazine disconnect disabled and marked as such. But only a letter will verify that fact since a lot of different examples have shown up over the years including some with or without that feature and out of sequenced prefixed serial numbers. I'm personally in the market for a nice 1086. Not because it's the lowest production of the group but I like the size and the DAO feature. Anyway, good luck with your letter. Take care.

Very nice indeed! Well done. My quest for 1086 and 1046 has lasted over 30 years and gone unfulfilled.

The 1076 here starts with TFF, the letter I got indicated LEO but not FBI.

Edit: Just realized that the pic is so old it is missing the 1076 which came along later...
