I've been hesitant to post this, so many of you have so many fine revolvers, but I must.

The service grips are hammered, I tried these Pachmyers on it, but they just don't look right.
Timing, lockup and endshake are OK, has a faint turn line. I traded a nice little Taurus 24/7 Pro 9mm for this CAI imported gun, serial #D9892xx.
Is there any way of contacting CAI to try and find out where this gun has been? I looked on their web site, but I guess without a FFL I can't talk to them directly?
I had several Model 19s, a 66 and a 65 back in the '80s and stupidly traded them away.

Those Pacs may just be the trick on your 357, It'll help on the recoil.
A fixed sight 4 inch HB 357... everything you need and nothing you don't.

The Model 13 is one of the finest guns in the world - why would you be hesitant to show yours?
And I'll tell you something - M13s have been very pricey for a number of years.
I have haunted gun shops from Ohio to Alabama, and I can get a Model 19 easier and for less money than I can a good Model 13. Model 13's are usually shot half to death, good ones are not exactly rare, but ARE unusual.
My wife's Model 13-1 has these Ahrends maple grips, and despite the crummy photo, they look great on this gun:

"I have one. This 13-1 was my first Smith&Wesson revolver."
jimmyjoe.

Man that looks all business with those smooth targets and fixed sights.

Those plain jane Ks are why there IS a Smith and Wesson forum, collectors association etc. Without them, S&W would have been out of business long ago. Because of them, Smith is one of the most recognized brands in the world.

I love the cool stuff, the Magnums, the 1950s (and the new trick stuff like the NGs, even with the lock). But that revolver is pure essence of Smith and Wesson. Just having it in your possession will bring good karma.

I have been liking fixed sight guns more and more as the days go by, I am even thinking about parting with a couple of real nice shooters, Even a mint 27-2 for a fixed sight 44 special or magnum.
I lucked into this 13-1 2 years ago for 150 OTD with some pitting.
BUT the gun was only taken to the range twice since new and the original owner stored it improperly.
I Did however round the butt ! !

Be proud of any smith no matter what the condition! ! !

She's got some typical holster wear, hoestly earned. Probably a LE trade in or pesonal weapon. No matter, part of her history & one to be proud of. She will serve you well.

Hello

Thank you for posting the photo of your Model 13.

I am planning on buying my first .357 Magnum sometime in the next few years (cash is tight right now so it might be a while). Finding a revolver like your's would be totally awesome for the intended purpose of me having a .357" Magnum, which would be backpacking, hiking, and just general outdoor/wilderness use.

I'd love to have a Model 13 like yours, I do like fixed sights for some reason. Having said that I'm sure if I came across a good deal on a Model 19 I would not turn it down LOL. I have not been into S&W Revolvers for too long and I have not seen many Model 13's (that I'm aware of at least). I have a Model 10-5, and I really like the K-Frame size, so a Model 13 is on my "wish list".
Thanks
Mark

I'll play. 13-3 3" round butt

I love that 13-1. It is elegant. Makes me so mad at myself for passing on 13-2 for $325 in great condition at a gun show a few months ago. I am still kicking myself for that miss. And yes I need more S&Ws too.
