I figured I'd post a new thread with some progress pictures of my build, I did my R&D in another thread here.

Still need to order a sling, and Magpul just came out with a MS4 sling, 2 point sling with quick disconnects easily convertible to a 1 point. Going to check one out and probably use it.

Here are some pictures.

Everything matches pretty good, furthest thing off is the stock, and it really looks closer in person than in pictures.

This picture is to show how far OFF the TAN and FDE colors of the AGR-43 rubberized grip from MAKO is from these same pieces.

Tan - Ordered from Optics Planet (nightmare)

FDE - Ordered direct from Mako

Also, both of the Mako grips broke when trying to install. The grip cover is almost impossible to open, and yes, I used a bullet to try to open it as recommended.

I got refunded for the one from Optics Planet already, but still haven't heard back from Mako.

I still need to get a ladder cover for the upper rail, and clean up the flashing/sharper edges on the rail covers. I've already cleaned up the flashing and rough edges on the stock, it wasn't bad, but there were a few there (I've almost never had to touch up a Magpul part).

I also am trying to figure out how to take the sight shroud/hood off so I can paint it and get rid of the stupid green zombie logo on top. I got it because it is a green dot with multiple reticules, I could care less about the goofy logo and think it detracts from the look of the weapon. I have 2 of these sights, really fantastic sights. The other one is on my Rock River M4.

I prefer Green Dots to Red Dots, as my brain somehow relates Green to GO and Red to STOP, and STOP into hesitate or don't shoot. Green also seems to work better for me against dark or black backgrounds.

Here's my AR, decked out in Magpul Foliage furniture.

BTW, that light grip is also by Mako, has a trigger to pull to turn the light on. Really like that setup, and it quick detaches from the AR so I can run without it or put it on my 15-22.

I really like the Mako stock, and the rail panels, the MWG looks like it'll be nice when it is installed too, just not too happy with the AGR grips. They felt nice and thick, but the textured nubs for near your thumb web were kind of uncomfortable, not to mention the fact that it is completely the wrong color.

BTW, it is REALLY hard to take those sight pictures with a cellphone camera while holding the rifle. LOL

The Magpul MOE + (Note the plus) is the Magpul MOE grip, rubber coated. it is a fantastic grip, I have it on both weapons above. The Mako one felt good, other than the little knobs it had near your thumb webbing, and I could see that getting old quick after a lot of firing or on patrol, especially with something heavier than the .22lr.

The other one you are talking about is the Magpul MIAD grip, and I've never owned one, but typically don't like adjustable parts where my hands sit, dirt and grime really collects in those areas and can be tough to clean, and I'm always looking at those parts as weak points.

The MWG is pretty good looking, I may work on it to install it this weekend. Wanna get one for my AR now too, but Mako doesn't have Foliage green. Since their color control seems to be shameful at best, I can probably find a OD one that matches though. LOL

Installation is easy. 4.5mm allen wrench to remove the existing pistol grip, making sure to keep steady pressure on the grip so as not to lose the 2 springs compressed inside. You slowly let off pressure after the screw is out and note which spring goes where. There's also a little follower/detent for the bigger spring, don't lose it, as it will fall out if you turn your weapon over. Put the new grip in place with the springs in place and screw in the new screw using the star washer from the first one. This one is a large flat head screw. Be careful to keep the springs/followers in place and under pressure until you have it tight enough.

Took about 3 minutes to swap the grip.

I've never seen that command arms one, but it looks nice. Let me know how it turns out. Look around at some more reviews if you can find them.
