A discussion in Tulsa with Lee J. got me inspired to try to get my 1917 rig complete. I was fortunate a while back to acquire this early (Dec.1917) model with matching, dished grips, grooved hammer, etc. The gun came to me with a 1917 dated G&K holster. I finally located the relatively (very?) scarce half moon clip pouch which is marked "R.H. Long 10-18". The pouch came filled with empty half moon clips. Last week an acquaintance who is heavy into vintage mil surp located me a 1917 web belt. Interestingly both the holster and the clip pouch are made to fit either the older leather belt or the early web belts. Also, during WWI, the 1917's were carried to be used left handed.
