My 1917

My 1917, Serial # 841xx, according to the website that has the dates of manufacture, July of 1918... Not sure what the chances are that it might have made it to the "Front" before the Armistice...

I have the original grips, but with my 76 year old hands it was not comfortable to shoot... These are some Eagle Rosewood grips that still give it a quasi military look.... and I am a big fan of the Tyler T-Grip type adapters....

This piece locks up tight with practically no cylinder wiggle at all... I also added a "Wonder Sight"... Really helps with getting a fine sight picture...

Wonder Sight

It is called a "Wonder Sight".... They were developed around 1960 and they are a "No gunsmith" adjustable sight, (Windage and Elevation) for any "5 Screw" S&W... A few years back some guy bought the original tooling for manufacturing them and markets them... They go for about $65.... You can google Wonder sight, or go to Ebay, the guy sells them there too.... I have them on a 1930's era Military & Police, and a 1954 .38-44... really great

Wondersights are great! I have one original production (they have different knurling on the knob, slotted vs allen screw, etc.) and 3 later production versions.
