This has become one of my all-time favorite sixguns, and most frequently carried to the woods. Faux ivory grips and a Tyler, with Mernicle chest holster and home-cast 245 grain gas checked SWC hollow points (Ray Thompson design bullet, Lyman #429244) over 17 grains 2400. Ready and adequate for just about any sixgun chores, it has accounted for 3 whitetails so far.

I did use that very bullet on the deer I've killed with this gun. Only recovered one, which went in through the front shoulder then hit the spine. The hollow point portion sheared off, indicating maybe a bit too hard of an alloy. I've since softened my alloy a bit, trusting the gas checks to minimize any leading. That deer dropped in his tracks from the spinal hit. The other two were more broadside behind the shoulder shots and both dropped in less than 20 yards.
