Today, I got my 625-9 mountain gun (.45 colt) back from the factory. I sent it back due to 5 of the charge holes had tool chatter marks where the diameter decreases. I'm not sure what this area is called.

Anyway, They fit a brand new cylinder to the gun and did a great job. I didn't measure the cyl to barrel gap, but it looks tight. Also, there is no endshake. None. It is certainly better than new.

OH, and the gun shoots great. At 30 feet, I could shoot 2" +/- sized groups with my wrist supported. It was great to have it back.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. S&W has serviced two of my guns in the past. Both were fixed w/o charge to me. I have another gun at S&W right now awaiting repair. I have nothing but praise for their customer service department.
