I like this one, it's my shooter.

Great revolver. I have two 686-4. I'm late to the L frame series having always been partial to K frame. I passed on a 581 and 681 over the years to my regret now.
I like to swap the grips around. The stag on the 4 inch is from the Forum own BigMtnMan. The stag on the 2.5 is Eagle Sambar stag. The wood is Hogue cocobolo from their auction site back when they had it on line.

I have changed stocks on lots of guns but I have never done it to one of my 686s.

But I did bring this 586 6" back into the S&W world of stocks, although I actually don't think these belong on there but they work just fine:

Tell us about those lovely stocks on your handsome 686-4!

I have been scouring the dreaded GB site for a 686-4 snub.
The pristine examples are going for too much money and then I see examples that have a little spotty bits of surface rust in the backstrap or top strap areas...
can't seem to find the "just right" example that fits my budget, but I know one is out there!
