she's a beauty, was keeping an eye on one at one of my LGS.... been there all summer until last week... it's gone. Price was good too, just not quite good enough for me to move it to the top of the list. Love the grips on the SSR..

Thanks, I wasn't planning to buy one until I saw her on my LGF with such a good price that I couldn't resist :D

I like it and congrats on the new Smith. I like that front hiviz on there.

686 SSR

Did it come with the Hi Viz sights from the factory!! IIf so, that could be the clincher in me getting one.

I've been watching one locally. They're asking $750 for it used. I can't justify it at this time as much as I'd like to.

tOkie,
Nice looking SSR. Is it a CCW? If so how do you carry it?

I looked at one yesterday and it was used asking 729.00 with box and papers? Seemed like nice balance Been thinking of a NEW 38/357.

I've been wanting one of those for a long time, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. It is next on my 'want list' however. A local shop here sells them for $779 OTD, new. Not much difference in price between new and used, seems like.....

779.00 does not seem bad, The price I saw included tax, seems all L frames these days are avg between 700.00 & 850.00 pending dealer

I missed a model-15 I had looked at a few days ago.

My favorite pistol is my bare bones 6" 686-3. It never fails to put a smile on my face with its effortless perfomance, and elegant simplicity.

Thanks, no it's not CCW because I don't have a permit (yes I know it's sucks, but being in CA & especially in Bay Area it's very hard to get a permit for regular civilian:(, that's why I envy all of you out of state with your freedom).

I went to the range today, and I love it!

Trigger is smooth & great balance.

T0kie,

Can you tell me the Hiviz Part/Model # of the sight you installed on your 686SSR?

Also any installation advice would be useful.

Thank you

I got an SSR too! Its one of my favorite wheel guns. Superb feel, balance, and trigger! Best value out there! I tell people SSR stands for super sexy redneck!

Sorry I just got back from vacation.

Her's where I got mine from:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...8CCPPMYZR33CSM

If you are getting the exact gun like mine, it's easy to change it by ourself, no gunsmith needed because the front sight is designed to be changed without tools. Good luck.

t0kie, your link isn't working. Can you possibly list the hi-viz number. Thanks in advance.
