My Apologies

I've just recently returned from a stint in "jail." And it was fully deserved. I was rude, abrasive, obnoxious, etc... Was going through a bunch of stuff, turning 60 this past January has not gone well for me mentally. Regardless, I should not have taken out my issues on a good group of people with limitless knowledge and expertise I have benefited from.

So again, for anyone I angered or offended, I apologize. That person from earlier this year really wasn't me.

Believe me, young man (I have 9 years on ya), I have walked the line on here and on the outside, I have a heck of a time trying to stay below the law here! I try like all heck but sometimes I have to just click the off button before I say something stupid or hurtful. You're right: great bunch of guys here. Sometimes, I really have to "bite my tongue" at some of the smart-ass comments I read. Spelling, grammar, and punctuation are pet peeves of mine, but that's on me. We're human, for the most part! I've been redfaced tissed off at some of the stuff I've seen/read here & elsewhere. But those people may be having a bad day, too.

I hear you on the 60 thing. I also turned 60 this January and it has been something that has me a bit taken back.
Life has a way of sneaking up on you.

I'm a very slow learner. Trying to dance around forbidden topics doesn't pay no matter how curious or well intentioned it may be. I really don't like being in 'jail'.

I've also learned to curb my comments when someone asks a question that can be obviously be answered by a quick search, but now I realize there is a group of good folks here that like to help out. I am very impatient when people say things that are not pertinent to the topic, say things that are downright lies, or act as if they are experts on a given topic. I've also learned to curb my comments when someone asks a question that can be obviously be answered by a quick search, but now I realize there is a group of good folks here that like to help out. One thing that I think about when online is there are some folks that have NOBODY. Nobody to talk to, no family or friends, nobody that cares whether they live or die. So sometimes interaction on a forum like this one might be the only real form of communication they are involved in! In general, folks here are very nice will help you however “an internet” friend can.

I can’t remember if it was this forum or another one I frequent, but years ago there was an older lady that was a regular on the forum….very active for years. She had not been on it quite a while and nobody had heard from her. Ended up that she lived in one of our western states way, way out in the country in a trailer. She had passed away a good bit earlier, and NOBODY knew! She was cared about on the forum, but had nobody local that she communicated with. I can’t remember the details now, but I think she passed of natural causes, and I can’t remember who found her. Remember, a lot of people on forums go by a “forum name” and folks may not know their real name. IIRC, another forum member did some investigation work and found out her real name. They had an approximate location, the kind that people use here, and was able to find an obituary. That was how the folks on the forum found out.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, but remember when posting that posting may be the only way someone has to relate or communicate with others.
