My Best .44 Magnum *** UPDATED***

Chuck,
Thanks for the photos of a really - really nice .44!!! and case and patch......
I expect that we'll see many more photos from that new camera.
ps. You don't see a set like that everyday!

BTT - I can't believe it!

* NIB .44 Magnum

* with box & tools

* Buffalo Head patch

* It's in Warwick, NY and NOT in Casper, Wyoming

What a "prize!"

J.C., if it wasn't an August gun, I'd send it your direction. There were fewer August shipped .44 Mags than in most of the other months except for the first 3 months of 1956. S&W took a two week break in August so that's probably what was the reason for that. I'm still trying to get together a display of 12 pre-29s, one from each month in 1956. I still need a Feb, July,and Oct shipped gun and I'll be able to put it all together.

BTT! It's just past it's 52nd birthday. I was waiting and expecting to see this .44 on August 26th! It wasn't there, so I took some action!
That's a beautiful gun Chuck!

The slight palm swell on the "cokes" makes for a more comfortable grip. Why, oh, why did S&W stop making them?

Beautiful revolver - exquisite find. I won't look at it again - I seem to mar blued guns just viewing them, thus my penchant for SS.

I will offer the following as anything but eye candy, the Infernal Lock and Hoque .500 Magnums, although the latter is highly functional, prevent that. It is my favorite .44 Magnum - I can blast away with abandon, from my ferret flatulance .44 Russians to those 180gr UMC SJHP .44 Magnum screamers, just not without cleaning first. It is a user. It has seen some rounds in my 3+ years since I bought it new. No one will ever present it with anywhere near the pride of ownership of that fine '29', of course.

The other end of the spectrum - for calibration purposes only.

PS What a keeper you have!

Chuck, a combination of awe & senility! I just can't get enough pic's of your August .44 and then I forget about it!

BTT - a older post but some truly fine pictures of Chuck's (29-1) August '56 .44 Magnum....
geez, this is a beauty....
A final look....

J.C. thanks for the memories though I think I've swapped those extra nice stocks around on about every 44 Mag I own. Wish I had 11 more just like them:)
Chuck

Senility...dementia...alzheimers...whatever it's called, I have a severe case and completely forgot about my favorite Pre-29! I "think" this is the last time I'll BTT!;)

J.C. you are this gun's biggest fan. I appreciate you bring her back to the top from time to time.

Chuck, They don't get any better than that one. Great .44. Would you send it to me so I can have a better look at it? I promise that I will send it right back!
