I meant to post about this a while back when he made the team, but just now remembered it.

His name is Bryan Otey and he is an amzing guy. If you follow this link and look at the pictures of the 2009 F-Class team, you'll see that there is something very different about Bryan. Mainly, he has no right arm. Click the pic for the BIO.

He represented NH at Camp Perry @ 16 & 17. At 18, a woman pulled out in front of his motorcycle going 60 MPH. He lost his right arm and his fiancee who was riding with him died. Its amazing he didn't die too.

Still, he's always been an avid hunter, and prefers bow hunting (which he pulls with his teeth!). Went to Africa a fews years back and between him and his son, they took many large animals (11 or 12 if I remember correctly).

So last year he asks me if I want his collection of Winchester commemoratives, which I know he loves. Says he needs to buy a couple rifles that need to be custom built and will cost $7000 each. I'm thinking...what the hell? So he tells me that he wants to make the F-Class team. These guys shoot pimples off the ass of a gnat at 1000 yards and go through barrels every 500 rounds! I bought the commemoratives and a sweet Model 64 (which helped him with the Mrs.)to help fund the endeavor. Against all odds, he did it in just over one year and is shooting with some of the best in the world. He'll be going to Bisley, England in July for the World Championships.

After he made the team, he wore his shirt (pictured) and team jacket to work. We teased him pretty good, but its one hell of an accomplishment for a guy with two arms, much less one. Oh yeah, and he's a great guy to work for too.
