I'm posting these pics for my brother. He recently picked up three different Bodyguards in the past week to go along with his other snubbies and I wanted to share some pics with you guys.

Here's the first one he got, a 49. Serial number puts it at '71-'72. Its got some honest wear but is tight as new on the action. He added the Tyler T grip.

This is the second 49. Serial number puts it at '75-'76. Excellent condition both finish and action.

This is the last one, a 38. Serial number puts it at '83 I believe. Excellent condition both finish and action.

Here's all his snubbies. The aforementioned Bodyguards, a mid '80s 36, a 37-2DAO, 442-1 from late '90s, and a '90 640.

I could have posted these pics bigger but it would have been death to 56K.

i can only assume that your brother is comfortable with his personal equipment since he sees no need to amass a large collection of long barrel guns to exhibit to the world.

Don't really know how to take that but as this is the S&W revolver section I'll leave it be.

One word. SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I'll take one of the extra 49's off his hands. He DOES NOT need 2.

Nice set of snubbies! I really like the Model 38. The design has such a unique look going for it - very purposeful.

Thanks for the great pictures.

Nice collection and glad to see the others that like their S&W Bodyguard as much as I do. Mine is from 1982 and is sporting Crimson Trace grips nowdays.

This is Sonny's brother, thanks for the comments on my snubbies and great pics of yours also. I was never really a fan of the bodyguard but also hardly ever see them either. I saw the first one last sunday at a local pawn shop and picked it up for a $250. I couldn't pass it up for the price. Then tuesday at a different pawnshop I saw the other 49 and it was in almost mint shape for $395. Then I picked the 38 lightweight at our local shop saturday just after it had been traded in for $350. I couldn't believe all these showed up in a weeks time and it put a hurting on my gun buying for a while.

The 49 with the tyler t will see some holster time.

It's finish already shows holster wear so I won't mind putting it back into service.

Sonny's brother: Very nice collection! A couple years back I ran across a pair of 1960's-vintage Bodyguards that had just been brought into a shop by the family of an old collector, and I liked them so much I bought them both immediately. I didn't get quite as good a price as you did, but they were both still NIB. Model 49 on the left, Model 38 on the right:

I like your collection of other J-frame snubs, too! Here are a few of mine, with a Colt Cobra thrown in for good measure. At the top is an original 640 (my favorite J-frame, bought new in April of 1990); upper left and right are a 342Ti and 342PD; center left and right are satin nickel and blue 442's; lower left and right are bobbed-hammer 37-2's (both sold awhile back, after I decided I liked the Centennials better):

my buddy told me he had the urge for a LARGE gun with a long barrel.......he said he had a small unit.....I said I am more than happy with my snubbies
