Very nice.

A lot of folks complain about the new Colt Cobra looking different from the original, but I'm not a purist, so it looks beautiful to me.
Ah, but then again, I often wonder how many folks who complain about the new models are just owners of the old ones desperately trying to protect their investment by denigrating new models at every turn.

Hopefully Colt will bring back the other "Snake Guns" like the Python soon. They'd sell a lot of them, I'm sure, especially considering that it was the main character of The Walking Dead's weapon of choice.

My gripe has nothing to do with looks or functionality....I just wish they had called the steel version a "Detective Special", and saved the "Cobra" moniker for a future alloy framed version. They had us all confused with the Commanders. The original Commander was am alloy framed version. Then they made a steel version, called the "Combat Commander", then they changed the name of the alloy version to "Lightweigt Commander".

I like the new "Cobra" just fine...but I'll call it a "Detective Special"!!!

By the way, Bronco...I think yours is very good looking and businesslike!!

Thanks for sharing with us.

Best Regards, Les

Curious where you bought your leather....I've been shopping around for mine and have been a bit gun shy (pun intended) because it doesn't seem to be the same size as the prior version for all manufacturers.

FWIW - I bought VZ Grips for mine to replace the Hogues...and it looks really cool and (for me) is a bit more comfortable - and "grippier" if that means anything...and I'm waiting for my night sight from Brownell's as we speak - USPS says it's out for delivery. Brownells said it was backordered but it only took two weeks.

Nice looking rig you got there. How is the trigger? Is it the same as the older Colt DA revolvers?

The leather is from Lobo Gunleather. The trigger is better than the old DSes and Cobras, as the trigger is straighter, a bit larger and there is no stacking through the DA pull. Trigger has a stronger reset than the old models but it requires a full return on the stroke after ignition of cartridge. In other words, "it don't operate like a striker fired piece of plastic". Trigger is smooth, good sights and easy to hit with. Get my nightsight this will be my EDC revolver. I shoot Buffalo Bore 158 grain LSWCHP NON+P 38 Special rounds in it and it shoots to Point of Aim.

Nice! I got my night sight finally installed. You're going to need a .050 Hex Head/Allen Wrench. I thought I had one and tore the house apart looking for one, ended up having to go to the hardware store to buy one. Site screw is easy to unscrew and it's an easy changeout. All I need is some leather LOL

I know only one person who has bought the new Cobra. He has not shot it much, but so far he likes it.

Shot my Cobra twice ( over 100 rounds) since I posted the pic of it in it's holster. Gun shoots dead on with anything 158 grains. In the ballpark with 125s to 140s. The best parts to the Cobra is the grip and the sights. The gun is an old wheelgunners joy to carry and shoot. Bullets from Buffalo Bore 158 LSWCHPs NON +P doing 880 fps out of this 2" and going right where you look. I'll take some pics when it warms up a little, 34 degrees on the outdoor range today.

Like that G&G rig. Some of my old DS holsters won't fit due to the enlarged trigger guard. That G&G rig looks GTG.

I held one at the LGS last week and looked it over. Nice revolver.

I'll stick with my 1957 Cobra.

I've not purchased a new Cobra because I already own a 3rd Gen. Dick Spl. in pristine condition. That said, if I was relegated to purchasing only a new revolver, the new Cobra is what I'd buy. I've not shot one yet but everyone who has one seems to rave about it, especially the trigger.
