My collection is growing

It wasn't on my list but I couldn't pass it up

A 40-1 "Lemon Squeez" in near mint condition
(I can't see if it's even ever been fired)
I can't seem to find this 40-1 serial in my S&W 3rd edition book
So I can't tell you what year this is

Any help ?

Nothing wrong with a Model 40...great little handgun that was first produced in 1952 and discontinued in 1974. Model 40-1 was reintroduced in 2007 as a Classic with a J-magnum frame and no IL. DBU5688 should be 2008 (per SCSW 4th Ed.). Enjoy!

Thank you "Hawg Rider"
Well that explains why I couldn't find it in my SCSW 3rd ED book

Best, Rick

That's a nice collection you have there.
I "had" what I thought was a nice collection and thinned it down quite a bit.
I doubt that mine will ever grow or get any smaller than it is.

Seems like you have a glaring hole without a .22cal revolver in there. If you like the shorties, a 317 would fit the bill.

As for what else your collection is "missing", well, I'm not a snub revolver guy so all of the things I like best aren't really in your lane.

With that said, a short barreled Ruger Speed Six would most definitely fit extremely well in your collection I think.

I agree. A Model 35 or a Model 17 would fill that void. Just plain fun!

Not a Model 17 - there were no 2" versions.

The Model 35 is a .22/32 Target model which, by definition, had a 6" barrel. A 2" .22/32 would be a Kit Gun Model 34.

I certainly did not mean to imply anything like that. I just think his collection would be better with a target rimfire or two.

Here is your big chance! I just saw an M13 Aircrewman listed on the Rock Island Auction for this weekend! A little pricey. They expect a sale in the range of $7,500-$15,000!

Your collection is growing. Congratulations!
I got hooked on the S&W Chiefs Special a few years ago. They have a way of multiplying that I don't fully understand yet.
Here is an old family picture. The group has almost doubled since this was taken. My early preference was the steel frame blue ones, but as time went on, and not pictured, I have added target models, Airweights, and a stainless..... It just keeps growing. The more I learn about them, the more I want.

I also have a fondness for the 1917, too. Looking at the 1917 and the early Chiefs Special you can certainly see the likeness.

WOW......that's an awesome collection
They look to be in mint condition
I on the other hand have only been able to find some in mint condition
but I don't mind a little Holster wear ;)

I am on the hunt for a Early Bodyguard
The one you have looks amazing
