A couple of years ago I picked up a 625-4 .45 acp with the 5" full underlugged barrel. Naturally it shot great, but it was just too nose heavy for my taste.

Wanting a lighter gun, I scored a Mountain Gun barrel from Midway USA. I sent my gun to LSG Manufacturing in Texas. LSG has been an authorized Smith & Wesson warranty station for 32 years so I knew they could easily do the job.

The gun had a matte finish while the barrel was a bright stainless. To get the two to match they had to bead blast everything which resulted in a finish that could pass for factory. I am more than pleased with how Frank at LSG handled the work on my gun. Excellant communication throughout the process with a very reasonable turn around time.

Looks great, most folks wouldn't know it wasn't factory, love the stocks are they cocobolo?

Man that looks great !!! Excellent job by the guys.
I don't care for the full lug guns either.
To me personally it don't look like a Smith with a
full lug. And it makes them end heavy to boot.
Good shooting....

To each his own and I don't mean to start anything--but I like full lugs.
The gun looks good and I am happy you are happy.
Blessings

GRRReat! When will Smith ever build another run of 625 Mountian guns in 45ACP? Yours is great! Smith just doesn't get it.

The gun looks outstanding. It does indeed look factory. The grips are a perfect match.
Good call!

Well done. Much as I miss my stolen LH 625-6 5", I hate the full barrels with a passion. Ugly beyond measure and they just don't look like a Smith revolver to me.

I love it when guys customize a revolver to fit their needs, THAT is a smokin' hot 45 LOBO, well done!

I've clicked on this thread 4 times now, that gun is awesome, I'm sure I've seen KA coco stocks on a stainless gun before, but yours just strike me has looking better than the others, once again AWESOME

So when did you 'score' this mountain gun barrel from Midway?

Nice gun. Shoot and enjoy it.
Range report to follow.

I have to ask..........what was the tab for the barrel and the work? That looks like something I might have to get done to mine!
