I've been doing some work on my 6906. I've tuned the action and polished all internals. Polished the feedramp and chamber, converted the ambi safety into a single sided safety, softened the sharp edges of the safety, slide stop, trigger and the hammer, crowned and polished the barrel, polished the guide rod and the barrel hood and stippled the grips.

Here's the results;

Now all you need are some 15 round mags and a spare barrel in 356TSW

Looks good! The 6906 is an excellent pistol. It is what got me hooked on S&W autos.

Nice gun and it looks like some VERY professional work on your part. I have a 6906 that I carried in Narcotics and loved it. I had the action tuned and the muzzle crowned by the LAPD Armory. The muzzle crowning will make a distinct difference in accuracy.

Thanks for the compliments. S&W makes great guns, but sometimes they have "rough' spots that need individual attention to make the gun reach it's potential.

Very nice..

I just purchased one of the last remaining CDNN NIB S&W 6906's last month, and I'm well pleased with it. I have had a 3913 bought new in 1995, and once I realized the 6906 was the same pistol but in double stack I jumped on one.

Excellent pistols, and it always amazes me at how little respect the 3rd generation S&W pistols seem to get on the firearm forums.

Apparently the only folks who are in love with these pistols are folks who have actually owned, carried or shot one..

I'm saving my pennies now trying to get enough money together to buy one of the last 5906's CDNN is still advertising for $399.99. I don't even need a larger, heavier, all steel pistol, but I think a NIB 5906 would make for a great home defense pistol.

Good job!

Best Wishes,

Jesse

indeed, that is a beaut! i would like to know how you got the safety/decock to be non-ambidextrous. i called s/w yesterday to see if they had any suggestions or parts i could buy to make the safety unilateral and they said it wasnt possible on the 6906. so, if you dont mind, please spill the beans on that one!

Judochiro, I cut off the safety on the left side with a dremel, filed it, welded the hole where the detent is and then polished it.

Got a 6906 last month. Already polished the barrel and you gave me some ideas on other nice touches I can apply to mine.

I want some nice checkered wood grips for my 6906 and my 3913. I saw some that were made in Turkey but I guess that source dried up. Anyone know of a source?

Also interested in getting rid or that right safety.

Thanks!!

I sent KSD and email a couple of weeks ago and finally heard back from him today, out of the blue.
