Was visiting family in Florida this week and as usual checked out some of the local gunshops. One large shop, selling mostly plastic firearms, had three, 5906 pistols in the case priced at $249 each. I was seriously tempted to ask them what it would cost to ship all three to my LGS in Ohio that handles transfers for me. I guess there is no love for stainless in Florida.
What happened to 5906 prices?

Wow, I would've jumped on that deal.
I think there were some 5906 surplussed recently at one of the major dealers, but not that cheap - if in decent condition, thats a steal - buy me now all 3.
If they're that cheap, maybe its because they haven't been able to move them out quick enough, meaning they're still there. I agree.. I'd take all 3, in almost any condition as long as it's complete and appears functional.. A beat up 910 will cost you that much or more..

I don't think you could find one of those at twice the price around here. I'd be all over at least one of them.
I was looking for 5906 a few weeks ago and they start at $500 in any condition. Shipping and transfer fee can't come close to the difference. I would have purchased all three, and could probably sell two and come out ahead. But, your money, not mine

It's all in the marketing. In that area, if they offer a $50 box of Titleist golf ball with each one of those Model 5906 pistols, they can sell the pistols for $500-$600 ea
Mebbe they know something we don't.
The 5906 was my first Auto... it wasn't my favorite. Then i picked up the BG.380 Gen1 also not my favorite.
Saw the current BG.... I dunno.... Some like it .. now i hear about Magazine issues..

I seem to remember a batch of (Israeli?) imports recently. Some were advertised as rough external shape for cheaper than normal.
Condition, Quantity, How Long in Inventory, How Much invested, Number of Mags, and Market.
But in decent condition, that is a steal.

There was also a batch of 5906's that came from several Caribbean islands. Curaçao, Bahamas, and Turks and Caicos Islands. They all have gone to glocks. I was on a cruise last month to all thee islands and all of them were wearing glocks. Last year they were all wearing 5906's.
I've seen some decent Israeli imports, and some "previously deployed" versions. Even the nice ones have import marks but there's nothing you can do about that. The upside is none of them are "too nice" to carry. They've been dwindling availability lately but there's still some deals.. 2nd Gen's are the sleepers, and still lots to choose from.

I remember paying EUR 220 for mine without magazines. I bought four new magazines, the total price was about EUR 120, so I got it cheaper than the average price in Finland.
