My Dad

Wood714, I am very sorry for your loss...please accept my sincere condolences. May your dear father rest in peace, and may his memory always be a blessing to you. :(

I just got off the phone with Kevin. He is currently on I-40 heading for Cincy.

He wanted me to let you folks know that he will be offline for about a week. He is going to try to get his mom to come back with him for a week or two and then have her fly back as this has hit her hard.

He also said thanks for you folks thinking of him.

My dad was my hunting and shooting partner. When my son came of age it became the 3 of us.

A few years ago at our 4th of July celebration Dad said he wanted to go shooting soon. He hadn't been afield in several years due to poor health.
I promised to pick him up on a day when his Grandson was off work. Based on how frail he looked I knew it would never happen.

A week later he passed.

After everything settled down my son and I went over to Mom's house and picked up Dad's guns that had been willed to us. We packed them up in the car and spent the weekend at camp blasting that silly target to smithereens.

We knew that dad was looking down and enjoying every shot.

My deepest sympathy for you loss. Just know that we all understand....

Condolences to all who have lost beloved family members and treasured friends.
There is never enough time.

Sharing these experiences can, by their telling, help in some small measure. Shared grief is cathartic.

On Tuesday last, our family lost a beloved member. Her passing was not sudden, but rather, long in coming. Both in their 90's and in her husband's care, she remained in their home, till the last day.

They were inseparable.

A loving marriage of 71 years, culminated as she passed away in his arms.

Their life together was the embodiment of a lifelong commitment fulfilled.

How rare and beautiful they found the way life should be.
