My dangerous walk

4--5 am need to use bathroom. now I try to miss bed post with toes. Hope to miss dresser and obstacles on floor, then the trip back. The golden years!!
I did that a couple of times, broke a toe in 2 places... Now I have a small flashlight on my night table. I don't leave my bed when it's dark without it. My little dog leaves toys on the floor and I also am afraid I'd step on him and he's so tiny he'd break! So for all our sakes, I depend on my flashlight! It's literally a lifesaver [emoji175]

Another advantage for men: Nalgene bottles!

In earlier times I took care of business that way so often during mountain climbing and camping trips that at some point I asked myself why I was crawling out of my warm bed at home and traipsing through the cold in the middle of the night.

Never looked back. Roll to side, grab bottle from nightstand (get original Nalgene, they close tight), do what you have to, reclose and put back, sleep.

Can you tell I'm not married? :D

I must get up at least twice every night and use the bathroom facilities. I have stubbed a toe several times and struck my shin on the furniture a couple of times, but so far have not broken anything. Night light in the bathroom. Night light in the hallway.

In addition to not suffering any fractures yet I am very grateful that everything still works, including the night lights.

I was never so glad as when my son passed the Lego phase. Step on a lego in the middle of the night in your bare feet, and it would make your saintly old grandma cut lose a string of cussing like a Marine Corp drill sergeant!

Legos... weak sauce.

Also useful when living in a dry CHU in a far away place, and the alternative is a frigid walk to the head trailer to take care of business.

Yeah, I think there are a lot of us than we would like to admit that do the "Fred Sanford" walk back and forth from bed to bathroom.
