My dog ate poison

Some years back our 60 lb dog swiped a chocolate orange off of my desk at Christmas. We watched her closely and it didn't even faze her! Bailey was a menace lol

We were told by our vet that a little milk chocolate probably won't hurt your dog other than possibly a little diarrhea. Dark chocolate, though, can be deadly - especially if it gets a lot of it. This after a pup got into a bag of Hershey's Nuggets. Thankfully milk chocolate and no ill effects were seen.

Grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, alcohol, and avocados (especially the skin) can all sicken and possibly kill your dog. The same are also bad for your cat (yes, xylitol too). Don't let your pet have raw dough with yeast in it as the yeast produces alcohol which is toxic to pets. After it's cooked the resulting bread is okay-ish.

I did not know this stuff was toxic.
I have a cat i wander if it is toxic for other animals as well.
Google is not much help

There is a lot about cats and dogs that I too don't know.

My granddaughter has her first ever pet, a kitten.
The kitten nibbled some of the Easter Lilly that her father brought by as a gift.

Thankfully, because the GD is a new kitten-momma, she Googled the effect of the Lilly on cats and, after an urgent trip to the vet and a $400 bill, the kitten is alive and well.

For less than $400, I could have replaced the kitten.
