Howdy Guys,

Thought I would show you my favorite Bar-B-Que Gun. A Single Shot .45ACP Powell Knife Pistol (PKP) with a custom made Travis Oakey Holster and Belt. I love this knife/pistol/holster/belt combination that is down right beautiful. At least I think so.

Take a peek and tell me what you think?

Bests

Hey, that is very unique and very handsome! Beautiful leather, too!

Never heard of the PKP before. I seem to recall seeing antique pistol knives, but never something modern. Please tell us about it.:)

I can't say that I've ever seen one of those before.
The whole rig looks well made.
Squeeze trigger in the knife grip? Any kind of safety?
Interesting.
I guess you could call it a " get off my knife gun"

Very nice set up, the knife is cool. The leather is awesome, I'm a fan of oak leaves and leather. Who did the leather? Larry

Just saw the name on the back, missed the picture before.

Howdy,

Jim Powell was the PKP maker from San Juan, Colorado. He made the pistol similar to the Elgin Cutlass. He wanted it to be legal without the restrictions of an AOW so he came up with the single breech load design. They made knife pistols in .22LR, .22 Magnum, .38 special and .45ACP one of the unique features is they also included an insert in .380 caliber. The main purpose was at dispatching wild game if that is what you need to do. Stab and shoot if you needed to.

I have added three photographs of an antique knife pistol only this one is a 7mm Pinfire Cromwell Style Pocketknife pistol. It was used as an alarm gun too by screwing in the corkscrew into the floor or wall of your hotel room anyone trying to break in to your room would actuate the trigger and "Bang"! It would wake you up and hopefully scare the perpetrators away. I will add more photographs in another post.

Plus I added more photographs of the PKP that I could not fit in last nights first posting.

Best regards
