Of all the K22s I've owned over the years my favorite is the Model 17-6 with its full lug barrel. The full lug barrel really is IMO the pinnacle of K22 development. The build quality, fit and finish is superb with its still forged hammer and trigger. This is the 2'nd one I've owned and I recently picked this example up at Simpson LTD and it was recently imported from Europe. The previous owner took really good care of it since there is virtually no finish wear other than the ever present turn line.
Tomorrow I'm taking it out to the range along with my Korth Match Target, should be a good range session.

Glad to like it. I can't stand FL barrels especially on a .22......Too much un-needed weight......I often look at a my 4 in 617 and think about bringing out the portaban saw.........My two old 17's are the berries.

I have owned a 17-6 just like the one you have and I agree, that is the pinnacle of Smith & Wesson .22 target revolvers. People either love the full lug barrel or hate it. I fall into the love category.
