My first 3" barrel 625-3

Just thought I'd share some photos of my new 625-3 model of 1989 with a 3" barrel. I was told its nib, but who knows. I've never seen a 3" 625. I used to own the 5" 625-2 model of 1988, but I ended up selling it. Are these 3" more uncommon then the 5"?

Have you verified the barrel length of the gun in the photo?

Does the serial number on frame match the box?? The barrel may have been swapped, or the box label can be marked wrong.. it happens.

regardless, that is a very nice 625!!! congrats.

everything matched and the crappy cell phone pics don't help. I won't see it for about a week, I'll get some better photos up then....now I'm worried

Did they make a 4" barrel for the 625-3? From what I remember, the barrel had 45 cal model of 1989. Everything looked factory and nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but I could be wrong.

S&W did in fact make the 625 with a 4 inch barrel. I am fortunate to have the 625 in 3, 4 and 5 inch versions.

No doubt about it the gun pictured is a 4 inch 625.

I'll think it over, it's kind of disappointing about the 4" barrel and I'm sure it negatively effects the value...I like everything factory original and complete. Must be the collector in me

Man..Thats too bad..its a definite 4 incher...You will still love it if you decide to keep it..

Changed barrel or not, thats a very fine revolver. I LOVE my 4 inch gun. Wish it was a 3 inch though.

3 inch 625's did not start until the dash 3.

I just got it home a couple days ago, and you guys are right without a doubt it's a 4". The box did not much the gun. Not sure what to do now, but I doubt I'll keep it, thanks for all your help on this one.

it may not be a 3 inch but its still a nice looking pre lock smith i bet it shoots nice too id give it a chance just saying
