I finally decided to start adding some Smiths to my collection. I'm normally not a big wheelgun gun, I'm more into SIG auto's and black rifles.

Of the wheels I have most are Rugers and a few Colts. Ironically I have always considered Smiths to be generally superior, but I found Rugers to be more practical moneywise, especially given how seldom I shoot a revolver.

Well this month I decided enough was enough and started with my "holy grail" of desired smiths. Like most other normal folks I have wanted a Model 29 since I was a wee kid and saw Dirty Harry more than 30 years ago.

So I tracked down a vintage 29-2 in presentable condition and I'm on my way.

I'm probably gonna confine myself to older smiths, I just think the P&R models were better made. And I have about a half dozen on my radar which will satisfy most of my S&W wants and needs.

Well, I must say you are on the right path with your 29-2, Very Nice. My first N Frame was a 8-3/8" 29-2 also and is one of my favorite guns.

Good looking pea shooter. Hope your prepared for what happens next. You to will want one of all of them. Congrats and good luck with the new addiction... 66er

Although the last one's are technically Micros.

I've fired a handful of different guns and went "meh." But the second I bought a Smith, I loved the feel and accuracy so much that I immediately bought another Smith. Now I want another Smith. I'm going to have to bury my cash in the backyard to stop this downhill slide.

I want an 8 inch Model 27 next, but with an AWB renewal being whispered about in political circles, I might be buying a S&W M&P15 next summer instead.

Magnificent way to start out. I've never owned a Model 29 but seeing yours I think I may just have to add one to my collection of Smiths.

I don't know if you did the right thing!
You went out and bought the BEST revolver EVER made!!
Anything else you buy in the future will pale when compared to the 29-2
