Okay guys, just bought a Sigma on impulse from another officer. I believe it is an SW9VE 9mm. Complete with box, fired casing, papers, and three 15 round magazines. Slide isn't black but not silver colour either. Casing date is 03-03-2011. Pistol is dirty, but no scratches or other apparent issues. Definitely needs a good cleaning though. I gave him $250, he says he paid $285 after taxes.

Did I get robbed?

Upon further investigation, I believe it is called bi-tone.

Im sure I didn't get a deal on it, I just want to know if I got taken to the cleaners on it.

seems alittle high to me,but i have a shop that sells them both 9mm and .40sw for $250 new.just bought my .40 for $200 free shipping. had already purchased used .40 then found the new ones,DUH!!!

Id say a little... you can get a brand new one for $299 and they more than likely will do the rebate end of this year again

From what I could gather on a quick survey of Gunbroker, I think I got a reasonable deal. Like a couple of you said, not a smokin deal, but okay. I think the original owner was probably being truthful when he said he shot one box of ammunition through it and stuck it back in the box.

I'll say this.....it feels way better in my hand than my M&P. I absolutely despise the M&P, but that's a story for a different thread.

One last question.....what is the deal with the long piece of plastic that slides in and out of the grip just behind the magwell? It is located in the same place a plug would fit in a Glock. On my gun it slides in and out and there is very little to no friction to hold it in place. Every time I rack the slide it comes loose. Could I superglue it in place?

I think it's a fair price for a like-new Sigma and (3) magazines.

It may be a few dollars high for a used gun, but I wouldn't worry about it.

The important thing is whether or not you like it.

I paid $319 for mine new a couple of years ago, that was the going rate at the time.

If you enjoy yours as I have mine, you'll soon forget about the price.

The sigma is a huge bang for the buck!

Enjoy!

Could you post a picture of the plastic thingy that slides in and out of the grip? Leejack, do you know what it is?

Im not at home right now, but I'll try to post a picture later. Probably way later, because I have a job to work tonight.

The best way I can describe the part is it is about 1.5-2 inches long. It slides into the space between the magwell and the back strap. It has a small protrusion at the end that looks like it snaps into a recess up inside. Im guessing it functions like the plug™ does on a Glock™. Pistol appears to function normally with or without it in place.

Every picture I have ever seen of these pistols shows it in place. I was curious if super gluing it in place would impair the function of the pistol.

Just a filler plug like on a Glock, a tab on the upper end should snap into a recess on the back side of the magwell. Super glue it, or leave it out, or get a new one from S&W.

Okay. Mine apparently wont snap in place. Ill probably just glue it, as that seems to be the most expedient method. I just wanted to ensure it wouldn't compromise function.

Thanks to all who responded.

Not a super deal, but you positively did NOT get gouged, Sigmas are certainly one of the most undervalued gun bargains in the market today. Light, convenient, super-reliable, and like you say, it certainly does fit the hand nicely. One of the best ergonomic designs today.

Practice, practice, and practice a bit moer. You'll love it.

Fair price, A little ragged when new. Some FTF's and FTE's, after about 1000 rounds it settles in. I find mine doesn't like Winchester 115 Gr. Walmart ammo. Trigger pull seems a little hard for law enforcement. Around 9#s.

I say it's a good deal. But don't take it from me, I'm a world class impulse buyer. I paid $278 and $300 for my used but excellent Sigmas. However, I love them as if they were brand spanking new. :D
