Good day!

I finally decided to break out of my shell and start sharing S&W revolvers I own.

I was able to pick up this Model 60 no dash for $500 cash locally last fall, which I thought was decent buy. I have provided some pictures and information about it.

Dash - No dash

Serial Number - R2537xx

Assembly Number? - 819x8

I can take the stocks off if anyone is curious about what numbers are under there. From what I found out based on the serial number is the manufacture date being between 1979-1980, but I don't know much more than that.

I added pictures when I first posted but they did not load. I have attached them. Sorry for whoever looked and they weren't there. Still working the kinks out posting here.

Good looking little Model 60. I have one that is very similar. Probably left Springfield about the same time as yours. It's turned into an "across the table" gun for me these days. Those tiny sights are all but useless nowadays, though at one time I could use it quite well. :o Anyway, congratulations on rounding up what appears to be a very nice specimen. :)

Great gun. I love the model 60. Mine is a no dash also, made in 1984. I carried it for off duty while i was a LEO and now as my retired carry gun.

Another nice one! You're on a roll. LOL ... I see my comment in your other current thread appears spot on.

These make excellent carry guns. Unfortunately for me, mine is currently on loan for an undetermined duration to my sister. (She didn't have a firearm in her house, and well - I have a few extras. ;))

When I carried it, it wore the original magna's w/ the T-grip.
When I loaned it to sis, I put the Hogues on it for her.

It looks like you got a nice revolver. I think J frames are among the most useful of all handguns. I have eight J frames. Snubbys are what you carry when heading to get gas or to the grocery. I recommend acquiring a variety of holsters and some speed loaders or strips. I keep extra ammo for my J frames in my vehicles and in other places.

My M60 ND vintage 1967 is a favorite and gets some pocket time for sure!
