My glasses saved my eye today.

Yup. I just bought some protective glasses that are on the Army's approved list. A real pain in the posterior with my prescription, but priceless if things go bad. A friend would have lost his eyes but for a pair of Oakley glasses while doing some "shoot until we figure out why these rifles fail" testing for some .gov folks (turns out they were shooting full auto until the barrels drooped!). There is a lesson there.

Yup!..........Safety, apple pie, and motherhood. Some things never change. Glad it worked for you. :)

Glad your instinct to put on "peeper protectors" save you eye. We were at the range shooting metal plates and I glanced over and saw another guy shooting without glasses. I put my pistol down and walked over and asked him nicely this question "How good can you shoot with your eyes closed"? He looked at me curiously and then I remarks that the metal fragments richocetted off of the close target and peppered us often.
The light bulb came on and he reached in his range bag and put his glasses on.

Thanks for the very good warning roundg, good safety glasses, like good ear plugs & muffs have saved many a person from serious injuries sir.

Been there done that

Did some maintenance at work and my
10099

sliped, HUGE scratch on my glasses.
Had i not been wearing them i would be blind at that eye now

No wonder they call it "The Jaw"

You are a lucky/smart man. Safety glasses are a must when working where eye injuries are possible.

Repeat after me-----Safety begins with ME-----

Glad to hear you had those glasses on and yes they do save eyes.
I once had an arc flash will working on 240 VAC and metal burnt a spot in my glasses but saved my eye. They were prescription glasses too and cost me money to replace but was thankful it didn't hit my eye.

I am nearsighted, too cheap to get bifocals, when I take my prescription glasses off for close work I wear goggles or safety glasses.

I have been wearing glasses for about 10 years. (I look good in 'em too)

I opted for the toughest lenses available and they have saved me from eye damage several times.

Once, as I was standing on the fairway getting ready to chip on, some one on the adjacent tee box shanked a drive into my face. My glasses took the brunt. I required stitches but my eye was spared.

Good for you rg.

I usually buy them (Elvex mostly) by the box from CDNN. 10 or 12 pr are less than $50. no sense me buying $150 Ray bans, I usually lose or break a pair every other month. Down South mirrored lenses seem to reduce glare best. Joe

I buy the Dewalt sunglasses from Home Depot. 20something a pair and are polarized and impact resistant.
