My Grandfather’s prewar .32 Regulation Police

I visited my mother for Thanksgiving and she gave me her father's old pistol that she had been holding onto. It's a pre-war .32 Regulation Police, serial #4516XX. It is in great shape other than having some Hogue grips on it. Now the hunt begins for what looks to be some unique to this model grips and some .32 Long ammo.

That's a beauty and lightly used from what I can see in your pics. I cherish my two revolvers in .32 S&W Long, but both are snub nose. Ideally, I would like to have a Model 31 with square butt and 4" barrel. Enjoy that fine revolver and let us know how it shoots.

After taking a closer look they do look like Pachmayr compac grips. There is no manufacturer name anywhere on them, inside or or out.

Nice one, likely shipped in the late 20's. One of mine, serial # 421467, shipped June, 1927. These are the correct stocks for your gun.

Finding stocks for that rebated back strap on the grip frame will be difficult, but not impossible. That 32 RP deserves proper grips. Best of luck.

Good luck, I rarely see them here...I have a spare pair that need a minor repair, but I'm waiting until Curt Harlow starts accepting new work again......Ben

I have a decent set, but once before I sold a really nice set, at a small loss, and then ended up with another RP they could have gone on...the set on ebay is pretty ugly. You'd probably have to spend $150 to get them looking right if someone could fix them.

There is a fairly nice set on Gone Broker right now. Price is only mildly exorbitant.
