That pretty much confirms what I've been hearing about the Chinese "Schrade" products. I got spoiled by the real ones made in this country, which I've used--the Old Timer carbon steel line--for many years.
I'll hang on to my eighteen bucks.
Actually, after working the primary blade 150 times or so it opens and closes acceptably, not good. The tools have not been worked as much and their opening and closing is not acceptable. I bought it to see what China made Schrades were like and to have a backup beer bottle opener and can opener. American Outdoor Brands is the parent company of Schrade and and is the parent company of Smith & Wesson. I'll get my $18 out of it, but would not give one as a gift, or recommend one to someone looking for a first or only knife.
