About 10 years ago, I decided I needed a new pocket knife, so I eventually bought a Fallkniven FH 9, which was cheaper then, but still a fairly expensive knife. It was a great knife, razor sharp, easy to carry. After a year or so, it turned up lost. I searched my house, my truck, my hangouts...still lost and I gave it up for good. About 3 years ago, I purchased another just like it. I was once again happy...or as happy as you can be with a lost knife. About a year after that, I bought a Roomba vacuum robot, and turned it loose. It returned to base, when it finished.

I went to check out how well it did. Imagine my surprise when I saw my knife on the carpet next to my chest of drawers.

Apparently, the Roomba went underneath the chest and since iy was too big to pick up, pushed it out. It took me a few minutes to absorb this...I had to check my pockets to confirm.

So now I have a pair. I wouldn't get enough of my investment back if I sold one.

Have misplaced many knives over my life. Usually they are in the bedroom somewhere. Lost a Kershaw for 6 months, then found it inside a shoe that I had not worn in over six months. I dropped the same knife at the range in a little used parking lot, looked all over my house and truck fore it and no luck. Went back to the range the next day and there it laid in the parking lot. I keep it in a pouch on my belt now instead of in my pocket now.

I had a similar experience when my Zeiss 6X20B monocular vanished.

It's no longer made, so I replaced it with the current 8X20 model.

A couple of months later I found the older glass behind a box in my closet. It must have somehow dropped from a coat pocket and I couldn't see it for the box.

Fortunately, it was in its leather case and landed on soft carpet. No damage done.

my wife’s uncle was in a nursing home when he passed away. We were cleaning out his stuff which was mainly old clothes and junk when I came across this pocket knife. It was rusted shut but, I managed to clean it up some.

I’ve had a Great Eastern, Northfield trapper, sambar stag scales, misplaced somewhere for a coupla years now... Sure hope it turns up.

Judging by the number of Swiss Army Knives in my stash drawer, I have lost several. OR they are in "Pre-Positioned Strategic" locations, like in the bottom of the recliner! I just buy SAK's when ever I see a good price and have the cash. Most of them don't mean anything to me, so I grab another and go. There is one I bought first, in Mexico, just before I got married. I enjoy this knife, mostly for the memories of our first year married and all the camping trips we went on. It lives in a black Buck belt pouch and never gets carried unless I camping with the wife!

The only Knife my wife has lost wasn't her fault! It was one of the SAK's with 104 functions in a carry case inside her purse. Some crook sliced he purse strap and took everything on her way into the grocery store. That had been a 10 year Anniversary gift. I replaced it with a much smaller SAK, with only around 40 functions! She still has and carries it everywhere. (I saw her trimming loose threads- Irish Pennants -from someone else's clothes a few weeks ago.) That knife has been with her over 20 years now!

I am the proud care giver of my dads law enforcement series Boker Tree Brand trapper. As new in box and so on. It was given to him by his guys as he called them upon his retirement. I inherited it many years ago upon his going to be with Jesus. I carry a trapper style knife every day. I also carry a tinker Swiss army style on a parachute chord neck lanyard . Between these two I have very seldom resorted to use it my machete of hatchet in the field or in more urban sceneries .

Don't sell number 2...you will need it just as soon as number 1 gets lost in the house .

I have the same story except with Kershaw Leeks . Number 1 went missing , so I bought number 2... then I find #1 hiding from me . Can't find #2 now so I'm using #1 ...it's just a vicious circle of hide and seek . They take turns going missing .
So my advice is keep both...one will go AWOL for a while , take out the other and use it until the first turns up ...trust me ...they will play this game !

My knives were always "wandering off". So, I bought a nice little CRKT model. It gets lost more than any other knife I've ever had. Always turns up=I now like a tanto point and serrations for cutting webbing and cordage. So I ordered a larger model=it arrived and it's bigger than I expected. The little one still gets lost but I carry the larger one while doing chores around the house.

I had a mint-condition Spyderco Chinook 3 (by the way, they are discontinued). One day, it went missing. Have no idea where. That was 6 or 7 years ago. Some day, I'll find it, at the bottom of the hamper, or under the bed, etc. I believe it's in the house somewhere, as I never carried it.

Here is what it looks like:

Same story with the Griptilian Conchita gave me for Christmasg a few years ago. One day I lost it driving my bus. It wasn’t in the bus, so I ordered a replacement that night.
Next day, I found my missing knife, lying on thr tarmac next to my bus in a little bit of frozen slush. The new one became a gift to my son-in-law.

The only one I "lost"...wish I had it these days!

The only one I really ever "lost" was a very plain jane Case XX small folder with a 2" blade. That knife was inherited from Pop and used by him, and me for many, many years scraping (really a fine art more than science) 12" Dodge pillow block Babbitt bearings into final clearance so we could get a startup on power generation equipment (fans, pumps, turbines).

Alas...........I carried that knife all over the USA and many foreign countries too, then came early 2000's and a trip to Toledo, Ohio and bingo......those wonderful TSA agents at Cleveland Hopkins said un uh- no way so it had to go directly into a grinder located right behind the bag (and nowdays shoes too) ramp for your carry-on stuff).

The BIG irony? My boss had just gone through the line and X-ray ahead of me and was waiting & watching my ordeal with the Case.....we walk to the gate and he opened his carry on bag and showed me a LIVE 30-06 round left over from a long gone hunting trip!

Go figure.

The Spyderco Delica I lost 10 years ago should make a reappearance any day now since I bought a replacement.

I have collected a number of Case knives over the years along with several brands of hunting and skinning knives. Most are Case knives though.

I lost my carry knife about a month ago. That's why I don't carry expensive knives. I carry mini lock backs Case & Buck. That way I'm only out $20. Several times my knife will be lost for months and I find them after buying another. If I carry a junk knife I can't get rid of them if I try.
