Hello All,
I don't know where the time goes, haven't been here since '06!
I have a concern about two revolvers I just picked up. Basically I'd like to figure out if I gave the seller a fair price. He's selling some inherited guns, and while I'm not an expert, I do know a fair amount about guns in general. Unfortunately, my perspective on value may be a bit dated. One is a model 27-4, 6". It displays hammer push off, and had a "bind" in the action. Reasonable wear and a little dirty. The second one is a 629-2, recessed, not pinned. The barrel has been ported (possibly by his father who was a hobby machinist), and sports Hogue Monogrips (ugh). I fixed the bind in the 27 (strain screw was backed out) and gave them both a good cleaning. They both have faint impressions of case heads on the recoil shield. Thoughts on value for both guns?
